Costa Rica and Nicaragua Dispute Makes It To Court
The dispute over Costa Rica's navigational rights of the San Juan river in Nicaragua is finally making it court, as arguments over Nicaragua reneging on a 150 year old treaty was heard by the world court judges at the Hague, today.

Union Groups Want DIS To Hand Over Files and Be Dissolved
The public workers union, the Asociación Nacional de Empleados Públicos y Privados (ANEP) and the Central Social Juanito Mora Porras, is organizing a march for Thursday, March 05, at 10am, to ask the Dirección de Inteligencia y Seguridad (DIS) that any Costa Rican is who in file with the intelligence service can obtain their file.

Costa Rica In Talks For IMF Loan
Costa Rica is in talks with the IMF to obtain a loan, but the terms and size of such loan have not been determined.

Roads to Papagayo and Panama Beach to be built
(InfoWebPress) – The Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) announced it will build a highway connecting to the Papagayo Hotel, which is part of the Gulf of Papagayo Tourism Development in Guanacaste. The project will have a cost of 600 million colones (little over $1 million) and has already been approved by the Comptroller General’s Office.

Costa Nursery Farms Expands Marketing Plan
Some 185,000 orchids were blooming in a Costa Nursery Farms' shade house in Goulds, from which thousands were selected for delivery to stores around the southeastern United States. Among them were miniature Phalaenopsis orchids, with quarter-sized flowers in colorful ceramic pots.
It wasn't thousands or hundreds waiting for national singer/songwriter, Humberto Vargas, who, nonetheless got a warm welcome home for his participation in the 50th anniversary of the Festival de Viña del Mar held in Chile.

Reno Wind-Turbine Maker Expands to Costa Rica
Reno-based wind turbine manufacturer Mariah Power has expanded onto the international stage with its first Windspire installation in Latin America.
