Sunday  06 April 2003

7: pm finds me just sitting down at the computer to catch up on the day’s travels and unique experiences.

After a short conversation this morning with a person code named ‘Jungle Jap’ for now, and listening to her plans to sit by the pool at the Marriott in order to collect her senses I decided to follow suit and derive my own pleasure for today from whom ever was also free to imbibe.

A quick call to my riding partner was fruitful and rather than jamming around the countryside we also sat around, and in, the pool of her choice.

‘Tis a puzzlement at times the things that spring from that youthful mind. I had been wondering where this beautifully tanned person went to get that way. I knew it had to be a hidden paradise that would allow not a tan line to ever inhabit this beautiful landscape. Enough said!

We rode not more than fifteen minutes from here to a special place that I have been sworn to keep secret and entered an area absolutely infested with sun worshiping bodies of all shapes and sizes.

‘Nada’ swimsuit to be found or allowed, there were a couple of bra and panty outfits lurking in the corners, kinda hiding from what I did never figure out. Not the place for Puritanism to lurk.

I have been to a few nudist camps during my life and they are a structured family type deal. No one dares to ‘arise’ to nature because ‘the kids are watching’ ------ the youngest kid today might have been 19 or so and I probably was the oldest at 60 plus although she said that the owner is over 70, sure did not appear so!  There were a variety of places to get wet and the experiences were worth the waiting time for sure. We ended up in a large modified wooden hot tub with super water jets placed in just the right areas for complete enjoyment of the majority of the inhabitants.

It was super hard to stay interested in most of the conversations that abounded. To stay involved in the meaningless nonsense of someone who is trying to keep their mind from those thoughts you don’t want to admit to is just fruitless and ridicules the inner being. Why were they there?

I suppose the posture of the goings on is above the prudish set but otherwise the attitude was open and enjoyable to everyone I talked to.

The idea behind the place is very sound and well thought out. It is just too damn cool here to use a pool without heated water and most of us hesitate using public pools/hot tubs because of the fact that the hot water is a breeding place for all of the germs and other stuff washed from the bodies that pass thru. The aquatic playgrounds here are set up with bacteriological filters and high volume pumps that clean every drop of water every 5 minutes and the ultra-violet units in the water lines also kill bacteria and mold spores that can cause trouble for our poor little bodies.

There was no smell of water treatment salts or other treatment chemicals but I watched as the maintenance guys were changing the filter stuff twice during the afternoon.

I would like to announce the location and name of this wonderland but for some reason the Costa Rican authorities think this type of establishment needs supervision which is just not the way they want to run it -------

It was kind of like the old ‘tar beach’ places we had in the city while I was going to college. Hidden rooftop playgrounds where real life was lived and sometimes started.
