The State of the Union
President Bush Said So when he arrived at his oval office early this morning after the State Of The Nation was imposed on the rest of the "not so free" world.

I listened intently last night as Mr. Bush laid out his/our proposed savings and spendings for the next decade in the US, looking for some help in the Social Security and Medicare realm of things.

I heard many proposed spending sprees, one of which supposedly will inoculate millions of Africans against the AIDS Problem that they obviously caused for themselves. We also provide millions of pounds of food there every year! Why don't we teach them how to spend their time growing their own food, which would leave them less time to spread the already epidemic AIDS virus.

Instead of putting a few people to work producing uranium to sell to the terrorists they could really help themselves become healthy and prosperous providing the foods so desperately needed. It seems that we are supporting their laziness and sexual prowess.

Of course we want to help the world problems! Of course we demand that others have freedom of life and liberty. Of course we will not allow some terrorist asshole to blow up our buildings and kill our people.
Of course we expect our gov't to support our own problems before sending our hard earned tax dollars overseas.

Speaking about tax dollars; according to last nights speech, a family of four will only pay forty some odd dollars in taxes if they made 40,000 dollars for the year. That's nice, but what do the guys that only made 19,000 get? They don't have that 39,000 plus dollars to live on. They don't get welfare or material help of any sort because they are over the 'poverty level'. Excuse me, did I hear that correctly?

I heard that Medicare is going to be revised so that its recipients can have the option of procuring an optional plan whereby some of their medications would be covered.

Excuse me again for butting in here but, two years ago they took away the payment for drug store expenses from the optional forty- dollar a month 'part B' insurance making it utterly useless. Now they expect the already underpaid retired or disabled S/S recipient to pay extra for what was basically free 2 years ago? Where did the money they saved go, probably to some politician's pocket as a retirement gift! WE EARNED IT ! ! !
As an example, I collected disability benefits for a few years because of some medical reasons. My payment was calculated on the S/S amount I would receive at age 62 and my Medicare 'part B' payment of $40 per month was deleted from that payment. So in review; I was covered for hospital, doctors, and medication by Medicare and received Social Security payments as if I retired at age 62. I wont go into specifics but, I was able to exist while paying 20% of the drug bills, which were approximately $600 per month. When the agency deleted all drug allowances and continued charging the $40 per month anyway my S/S payments were eaten up by my drug expenses to the point of no longer being able to pay any bills or live in Ft. Lauderdale for that matter.

This situation was caused by lack of funds in the system supposedly. That lack of funding was caused by our gov't spending abroad, using our hard earned social security money as collateral or directly using the collected funds.

As a retired person living on my Social Security allowance ---------- Such is the State of The Union! --------------
