26 killed, 40 missing in mudslides in Colombia
At least 26 people were killed and 40 went missing Friday in mudslides in northwest Colombia, the authorities said.

Local officials said the mudslides were caused by persistent rains from Hurricane Stan affecting several parts of the country, adding that they would relocate the residents affected in Bello, northwestern of Antioquia.

Bello Government Secretary Claudia Elena Velez said that on-going torrential rains had forced rescue teams to suspend their search for those missing.

Colombia's Meteorological Service has warned people on possibly intensified rains and storms in central and northern parts of Colombia.
