Pirate Taxi Was Really Drug
Dealer
Calling a taxi in Quepos got you
more than a ride to your
destination, this according to
police who arrested 25 year old,
Vargas Tenorio, who in addition
providing pirate taxi services,
also used his taxi to distribute
drugs.
The man known as "Pantera" was
arrested last week after
undercover police made several
purchases. Tenorio was found
with marked money in his
possession at the time of the
arrest, money used by police to
buy 27 hits of crack.
The Pantera was known to locals
and tourists alike, who sought
out his kind of service. The man
would make his deliveries to
hotels and private homes in the
Quepos and Manuel Antonio area,
disguised as a pirate taxi -
informal taxis that provide
transportation.
"Pantera" will now spend the
next three months in preventive
detention in El Roble de
Puntarenas while the
prosecutor's office prepares its
case.
