Guatemalan Farmers Say Fidel Get Well
The Guatemalan National Indigenous and Farmer Coordination Office (CONIC) expressed regret on Thursday for the Cuban president s health problems, and wished him a speedy recovery.

We pray to the Hearts of Heaven and Earth for his recovery and ability to continue leading his country, says a note from CONIC, an entity composed of dozens of Guatemalan peoples organizations.

The text also expresses solidarity with the Cuban people, asserting that it is currently hopeful that their historic and revolutionary leader will be able to get out of bed.

The CONIC document urges the sister nation to continue defending its national sovereignty, because an organized struggle is the only way to break the chains of injustice and slavery.

The Guatemalan government, political figures, humanitarian organizations, admirers and friends of Cuba and its president have expressed their confidence this week in the revolutionary leader s full recovery.
