Handicapped Grandmother Arrested For Drug Trafficking
Unbelievable can only describe this story, the story of a 61 year old grandmother, in a wheel chair due to an amputation of both of her legs, along with 28 year old son, fell into the hands of police yesterday, for selling drugs in the area of Santa Roas de Pocosol.

Evadina Sandoval Guzman and her son Oldeman Araya Sandoval, were both taken into custody by the Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) as principal players in a crack and cocaine trafficking ring in the area that extended to San Carlos, Cuidad Quesada and Los Chiles.

The police action was taken yesterday, Mother's Day, as police stormed the residence of the elderly lade finding some 79 pieces of crack and ˘300.000 colones in cash that police say was used to buy and sell drugs, marked cash that was used by police in their investigation.

Investigators found that the woman and her son sold drugs in the area, including to a nearby school. Both are facing drug trafficking charges. The son in jail, while the mother is in the Cuidad Quesada hospital, under police custody, as they await the decision of a judge on preventive detention.
