Panama Hosts Maritime Forum
The 15th meeting of the International Forum on Marine Accident Investigators, made up of experts from over 70 countries, continues Tuesday in Panama City, with the aim of sharing information and experiences on the issue.

Sponsored by the Panama Canal Authority and the Panama Maritime Authority, the event intends to facilitate communication and cooperation among world maritime experts.

Among issues being addressed are improvement of maritime security and prevention of contamination through liquid spills.

During the opening ceremony Monday, PMA second vice president and administrator Ruben Arosemena reiterated Panama s interest in avoiding such accidents and mitigating their consequences.
