Ortega to Meet Private
Businesspeople in Nicaragua

Nicaraguan President elect
Daniel Ortega will meet next
week, in this capital, with the
local and Latin American private
businesspeople, to discuss
"strategic points of development
and investment," a source of the
future government announced on
Saturday.
According to Vice president
elect Jaime Morales Carazo, the
meeting was scheduled for
December 15, although the date
is subject to changes.
Morales Carazo told the local
press the private
businesspeople´s proposals will
be related to the work in the
assembly plants, tourism, and
development of the Atlantic
Coast.
Those are proposals that the
private sector is presenting to
the new government to generate
jobs, exports, and favor greater
consumption of national
products, Carazo explained.
After being proclaimed winner of
the presidential elections on
November 5, Ortega met diverse
sectors of the Nicaraguan
society, as the local
businesspeople and foreign
investors.
The president elect promised in
those meetings to respect the
private initiative and market
economy, and the agreements in
force, with the international
financial organizations and the
United States.
