3.000 New High Paying Jobs Being Offered
The fourth floor of Mall San Pedro is now the new home of the U.S. company, Datascension, who is beginning operations in Costa Rica and will be offering jobs to some 3.000 Costa Ricans.

Datascension is a data solutions company and business process outsourcing provider with operations in California, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, embodying a unique expertise in the collection, storage and processing of marketing data.

Mario Garita, representanting Datascension en Costa Rica, said they will be hiring about 3.000 people in their call centre operations at the Mall San Pedro and the only requirement will be a domination of the English language - 90% written and oral - without major importance to past work experience or age.

Garita said that potential employees who possess basic computer skills, the company will provide a two week paid training course.

The starting salary offered by the company for a 48 hour work week is us$624 dollars (˘322.000 colones), in addition the company offers worker benefits. Garita added that the company will be hiring about 30 new people each week.

The Datascension offices will be officially opened today in a ceremony that will be attended by a number of government officials and politicians, including Costa Rican president Oscar Arias.

Datascencion has been operating in Costa Rica since 2000 in a smaller centre, employing some 800.
