Best Performance in 13 years
According to Finance Minister Guillermo Zuñiga, public finances will end this year with the best performance in 13 years.

The Central Government’s deficit – revenues less expenses – will be under 2 percent of the Gross Domestic Product.

He pointed out that the improvement results from tax revenues that were higher than expected, thanks to better controls on the collection.

Zuñiga pointed out that revenues collected by this December 15 were 25 percent higher than by the same date in 2005.
