The Billfish Foundation Presidential Challenge Of Central America Costa Rica - 2006
The Billfish Foundation Presidential Challenge of Central America begins the Tenth Anniversary season of the Presidential Challenge series in Playa Carillo.

When you sign up to fish The Presidential Challenge Series (PCCA) you are supporting their efforts as well as those of The Billfish Foundation(TBF) to further conservation of billfish in Costa Rican waters.

We love the exhilarating fishing opportunities we have come to expect off the shores of Costa Rica. Our anglers come from many of the United States, Puerto Rico and Central America to take advantage of one of Costa Rica’s most valuable resources – the billfish.

The PCCA and TBF recognize that sportfishing tourism is their strongest tool with which to get the attention of decision makers in Costa Rica. Good conservation pays.

Coastal communities prosper from fishermen who purchase hotel rooms, frequent restaurants and charter boats. Other service providers and businesses related to sportfishing all contribute to the economic health of these communities.

This year the tournament is again scheduled for the beautiful Hotel Guanamar. Anglers will compete for three days aboard private boats and boats chartered locally. Everyone is welcome to fish with them. You need a team of three anglers to make an entry. We will place a certified International Game Fish Association observer aboard each boat along with the angling team.

This tournament is sanctioned by The Rolex-IGFA Offshore Championship and The World Billfish Series and will hedl April 21-22-23, 2006. Entry fee is $2,300 per angler ($2,500 after February 15, 2006)
