June Inflation 5.31%
The Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Censo (INEC) said that last month (June), the inflation rate closed at 5.31%, which is the lowest compared to the month of June in 2004 and 2005 (6.25% and 6.86% respectively).

The figures show that increases in the prices of public services like gasoline (4.08%) and staples like potaotes (14.01%), oranges (19.16%) and eggs (4.89%) contributed to the inflation rate.

Contributing to lowering the inflation rate was the drop in prices for such items as carrots (-8.29%), electrical services (-0.41%), lemons (-22.7%) and onions (-6.58%).
