  Liliana Carranza Leaves Telenoticias

Liliana Carranza Leaves Telenoticias
Liliana Carranza, the beauty of channel 7 news for 10 years, is leaving the television station to work for Deloitte International, the tax, audit and financial consulting firm, as a marketing and public relations assistant.

Carranza confirmed the departure but denied that she is pregnant and that she is leaving because she was passed over for the night news spot after Mishelle Mitchell announced her departure last week. Mitchell will be working with president Oscar Arias in public relations.

Carranza insisted that she is leaving Telenoticias because she was offered a position at the prestigious Deloitte and besides being a journalist, she has a Masters in administration and marketing from the Universidad de Costa Rica. Carranza added that she was offered the position last year but turned it down. This time, she said she could not turn down their offer when again it was made.

"It is not true that I am pregnant. My mother would be happy is I were", said Liliana in dispelling rumours of her pregnancy.

At 33 years of age, Liliana feels it is a time for a career change after spending 10 years with Telenoticias. The journalist said that she is well paid at Telenoticias. Though Deloitte is paying a little more, Liliana said that she will have the opportunity to learn new things and is looking forward to working with some of the top people in the management of corporations and finance.

Pressed that she is leaving for being passed over for the Mitchell position, Carranza was adamant that that had nothing to do with her decision. Carranza emphasized that the she had spoken to doņa Pilar and Ignacio, Telenoticias' news directors, about the move and last September she was offered a news spot.

"Along with doņa Pilar and Ignacio, don René and doņa Paula Picado (owners of channel 7) have said the doors are open to me at any time", said Carranza.

"I am not a star. I like to get my hands dirty in my work. I always gave my best efforts and always counted on the best relationship with doņa Pilar and Ignacio. This hurts a lot, but I know I have the doors open to come back. I think it is a good decision for me", said Liliana Carranza in closing.

The only reason now to watch Telenoticias is for the beauty that is Wendy Cruz on at 5:55am.
