Da Vinci Code Can Be Shown At
Cinemas, Constitutional Court
Rules
The Sala Constitucional or
Constitutional Court rejected an
appeal by a Catholic follower
that would have suspended the
showing of the "Codigo Da Vinci"
(the Da Vinci Code) in cinemas
in Costa Rica.
The court magistrates did not
accept the arguments in the "recurso
amparo" (appeal) that the film
went against the Political
Constitution and should be
censured.
The appellant argued that the
film went against the morals and
beliefs of Catholics.
The magistrates said that if the
contents of the book and the
movie were offensive to the
appellant, he was well within
his right to express his
opposition and not see the
movie.
