U.S. WILL NOT Remove Costa Rica From List of Irak War Supporters
Considering it an "historic document", the United States of America is refusing to remove Costa Rica from the list of supports of the Irak war. Costa Rica is still listed on the White House website as one of the supporting countries to the war in the middle east.

The government of Abel Pacheco authorized the inclusion of Costa Rica's name on the list in March of 2003 and according to U.S. government officials, is part of the White House documents and cannot be removed.

Costa Rica's foreign minister, Bruno Stagno, received a letter from the Americans stating their position for not removing the name from the list, refusing the request sent by Costa Rica earlier this year.

Stagno said that the United States deems the document by the former government is "historic" and "public" and cannot be legally removed.

Stagno added that he will continue to hold conversations with officials in Washington looking for a solution to the Costa Rican plea.

The decision to have the Costa Rican name removed from the list stems from a Constitutional Court decision earlier this year that ordered the Poder Ejecutive (executive power) to withdraw the country's name from the list.

"The United States of America is sovereign country. The White House website is a sovereign page of the United States, who have made the legal interpretation on the matter and we have to be respectful of their legal position", said Stagno.

Stagno added that he and his officials have to find a way to comply with the Constitutional Court order.
