Salvadoran Police Involved in Corruption
Civil National Police General Director Rodrigo Avila Thursday confirmed the preventive arrest of 13 police agents accused of robbery and kidnapping acts in El Salvador.

"A local jury ordered provisional prison and submitted to instruction phase a process against the agents involved in robbing a business and the illegal retention of people," the official declared.

He added that the ex-police agents took advantage of their resources and authority to carry out the violations and embezzle the commercial facility located in San Salvador.

The Officers, whose identities have not been revealed for security maters, are accused for abducting 20 employees from the robbed company in early 2006.

Rodrigo Avila reaffirmed he would continue fighting corruption and material or human distortions for illegal aims.
