Caught Red Handed Stealing in
Supermarket
Where are the cops when you need
them? Oh, wait a minute, those
are the cops, was the
unbelievable moment lived by a
supermarket security officer
when he caught a member of the
Fuerza Pública (police) filling
their pockets with stolen
merchandise.
The theft occurred in the "Super
Despensa" in Cartago, east of
San José, in the heart of the
area known as Vieja Metrópoli.
The police official identified
by her last name Quirós was
caught red handed. Quirós is
attached to the Delta 1 police
delegation in San José.
According to Eduardo Guzman,
chief of police in San José,
confirmed the occurrence and
said that an administrative
process is being opened against
the official. "We will not
tolerate any irregularity by any
of our officers", said Guzman,
who added that the woman was not
on duty at the time and was not
in uniform.
The report says that the police
woman stole some bags of peanuts
and cold drinks that came to a
total value of ¢2.650 (us$5.25).
