Nicaragua Boosts Caribbean FTA
Nicaragua will use the 11th
Ordinary Meeting of the
Association of Caribbean States
(ACS) Ministerial Council,
opened Tuesday in Trinidad and
Tobago, to boost a Free Trade
Agreement with the Caribbean
Community of Nations (CARICOM).
Deputy Secretary Minister for
Economic and Cooperation
Relations Mauricio Gomez,
leading the Nicaraguan
delegation at the event, will
discuss the issue with his
Caribbean counterparts and
CARICOM officials in Port of
Spain.
The three-day ACS meeting will
debate requests for admissions
of new members and the working
program for the 2006-2007 period
as well as analyze various
issues and the report of the
Ministerial Council chair,
currently headed by Mexico.
