Nicaragua Boosts Caribbean FTA
Nicaragua will use the 11th Ordinary Meeting of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) Ministerial Council, opened Tuesday in Trinidad and Tobago, to boost a Free Trade Agreement with the Caribbean Community of Nations (CARICOM).

Deputy Secretary Minister for Economic and Cooperation Relations Mauricio Gomez, leading the Nicaraguan delegation at the event, will discuss the issue with his Caribbean counterparts and CARICOM officials in Port of Spain.

The three-day ACS meeting will debate requests for admissions of new members and the working program for the 2006-2007 period as well as analyze various issues and the report of the Ministerial Council chair, currently headed by Mexico.
