Costa Rica will show promotional
Video During World Cup
Costa Rica will show a
180-seconds video on Costa Rican
culture, natural environment,
people and tourist and
commercial sites in several
public fora in Germany during
the 2006 World Cup.
The video will be shown in giant
outdoors screens in Hamburg,
Berlin, Hannover, Gunzburg,
Heidelberg and Frankfurt, Costa
Rican Foreign Affairs Ministry
said Friday, but it will also be
shown on German TV and in some
stadiums as part of the material
produced by FIFA with
information on the 32
participating countries.
The video is an initiative of
the Foreign Affairs Ministry,
the Costa Rican Football
Federation, the Instituto
Costarricence de Turismo (Costa
Rican Tourism Institute) - ICT
-, the Foreign Trade Ministry,
the Foreign Trade Promoter, the
National Tourism Chamber and
private firms.
ICT will also invest us$6.7
million dollars in a German TV
and press publicity campaign on
peace, nature, football and the
quality of Costa Rican products.
Costa Rica will play against
Germany on June 9 on the first
match of the World Cup in
Munich. Six days later it will
face Ecuador in Hamburg and on
June 20 it will play against
Poland in Hannover, the last
Group A match.
