Ramonet: Cuba a Main LatAm
Player
French writer Ignacio Ramonet
said on Friday that the Cuban
revolution and its leader Fidel
Castro are having an
unprecedented influence in Latin
America, which explains the fact
that their critics are
escalating the discredit
campaigns.
Ramonet spoke before a group of
students from the University of
Computer Sciences in the
outskirts of Havana, where the
Cuban edition of his latest book
Cien Horas con Fidel (One
Hundred Hours with Fidel) was
presented.
"The Latin American social
movement has never shown as
clearly as today its friendship
and solidarity with the Cuban
revolution and Fidel Castro,"
Ramonet added.
He insisted that the political
project established in Cuba
since 1959 had never had such an
influence in the continent, with
constructive relations with
several movements, parties and
what he described as
democratically elected left-wing
governments.
