Costa Rica Student: President
Interferes
A Costa Rican student leader
accused President Oscar Arias
Wednesday of interfering in
internal affairs of other Latin
American countries.
The letter, published in Cuba's
Granma newspaper and written by
Oscar Barboza, a student
representative at the Academic
Council of the National
University´s Biological Sciences
School, denounced attacks led by
Arias on Cuba.
Barboza also said the president
aims to accuse of plotting
against his government students
and organizations opposed to the
Free Trade Agreement with United
States.
In the five months of his
government, his international
image has been affected due to
some comments when he interfered
in internal affairs of twin
countries, in reference to
recent anti-Cuban demonstrations
by Arias.
The letter expressed gratitude
for the truthful information on
Costa Rica published in Cuba and
informed that the student
movement is spreading it in the
Central American nation through
different media.
