Most Panamanians consider
authorities struggle against
youth gangs inefficient,
revealed polls today.
The CID-Gallup firm poll
highlighted that 55 percent of
people interviewed criticized
the government policy in
fighting crime.
Meanwhile 41 percent answered
they barely trust the National
Police, and 31 percent said they
are afraid to walk near the
place they live.
In the middle of the wave of
crimes shaking the Panamanian
nation President Martin Torrijos
announced a special program to
improve quality of living in the
most affected areas.
Despite the general view of
rising violence National Police

The government planned the Penal
Code and Penal process reform
including most severe sanctions
