UN Calls to Panama Resource Equal Sharing
Unequal distribution of income, education, and health are the main problems that prevent Panama from developing fairly, a UN report said on Sunday.

A UN Development Program (UNDP) document revealed the serious resource-distribution inequalities in Panama.

"This country will not reach further welfare for the majority if we do undertake a different development, and it happens because we do not work on the equity issue," UNDP representative Isabel St. Malo de Alvarado said.

According to the official, there are not poor people in Panama due to lack of resources, but due to lack of opportunity.

A recent survey revealed that the majority of Panamanians thinks poverty is the main problem in the country.
