Russia and Venezuela Ink Accords
Venezuela's Vice President Jose
Vicente Rangel and Russian
counterpart Alexander Zhukov are
due to sign 13 bilateral
cooperation accords during the
3rd Top-Level Inter-Government
Commission.
The bilateral collaboration
includes energy, investments,
aviation, copyright, health,
education, science, culture,
technology and defense.
This 3rd bi-national meeting
started in Moscow on October 12
with a five-sub-commission
plenary session in charge of
analyzing economic-trade
cooperation, as well as other
areas of common interest.
Prior to signing those
agreements, Rangel and Zhukov
will ink the Joint Commission's
Final Act today, give a joint
news conference for Russian and
foreign journalists, Prensa
Latina reported.
The Venezuelan delegation is
also made up of Sohail
Hernandez, executive secretary
of the commission and general
director of Economy and
Cooperation at the Foreign
Affairs Ministry, and Richard
Vivas, deputy minister from that
ministry for Europe.
The joint group was created in
May 2001 with the aim of
analyzing possibilities of
profitable mutual cooperation,
and its first meeting took place
in this capital in October 2004.
