Panama Will Sentence Terrorism Acts
Panama National Assembly (Parliament) is planning on Tuesday to increase the jail sentences against those who make terrorism acts in the country considering the increasing of this problem in the world.

According to the reform project of the Penal Code approved in second debate by the unicameral Congress will receive a sentence from 20 to 30 years in prison.

The article 301 of the initiative foreseen that sanction for those who cause panic, terror or fear in the population and use for it radioactive material, weapons, biological and toxic substances, explosives or any other kind of massive destruction.

People who put the Panama Canal in danger will be punished with 10 to 15 years in prison, sentence that will be doubled if the action causes damages to the inter-oceanic road.

The project reforming the Penal Code also includes an increase of the sentences for crimes and rapes.
