Venezuelan Crude Price Rises to us$65.79 per Barrel
The Venezuelan crude oil closed at us$65.79 dollars per barrel, for an increase of us$1.92 dollars compared to the previous week.

The ministry of Energy and Oil explained in its weekly report that average prices of the international reference crudes were quoted at their highest prices in the last 10 months.

The oil basket of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) went up by 1.82 dollars and closed at 69.20 dollars per barrel this week.

The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude of reference in the United States passed from 68.93 to 71.28 dollars, while the North Sea Brent quality (Europe), went up 2.20 dollars when it closed this Friday at 72.95 dollars per barrel.

According to Venezuelan analysts, this performance obeyed basically to the concern about Nigerian supplies, due to heightened violence in that African nation.

Expectations about a higher gas demand in the United States and problems in some refineries also had an impact on the oil price hike registered this week.
