Quintavalle Accused By Investors of Fraud
Matteo Quintavalle, the Italian businessman who
made the headlines first by his purchase of
local soccer players, is in the news again, this
time being accused of fraud by some of his
investors.
A number of investors filed a complaint with the
Fiscalía de Pavas, who is investigating the case
of fraud by Quintavalle against his investors
for the amount of us $4 million dollars.
In the meantime, Quintavalle, who says he is not
hiding anything and he can be easily located,
cannot leave the country while the investigation
is ongoing.
The restriction on his leaving the country was
signed by judge Roxanna Monge of the Juzgado
Penal de Pavas, in the case file number
07-927-283-PE, where 17 Americans are claiming
to have been duped by the outspoken businessman.
Another four men are being accused along
Quintavalle under articles 216, 239 and 241 of
the Código Penal, relating to credit fraud.
