Venezuela Bank Helps Nicaragua
President Daniel Ortega said the opening here of
a branch of the Venezuela Economic and Social
Development Bank (BANDES) is the first sign of
the financial aid promised to Nicaraguan
producers.
"We said we would look for a way to create in
Nicaragua a bank of production and this is its
first materialization," the president stated.
The BANDES Branch opened Thursday with the
granting of 9.6 dollars in credits to 11,000
members of cooperatives, and donated another 10
million to several state companies and
institutions to fund social projects.
