Quintavalle To Remain in Jail
The latest attempt by Matteo Quintavalle for conditional liberty has been denied, as the Juzgado Penal de Pavas rejected the request to reduce the preventive detention to house arrest.

With the decition, Quintavalle must complete his six months preventive detention in the San Sebastián jail while authorities delve into charges of fraud.

Quintavalle had been denied earlier requests claiming his health condition as a reason and also been denied conjugal visits with his lover, who is his co-accused but remains free on bail.

The Italian businessman has been accused of swindling a number of his investors, who filed charges in the Pavas court.

Quintavalle was detained on July 17.
