Desamparados Carnaval Replaces San Jose Tradition
For the second year conscutive, Desamparados has been host to the "carnaval", as 500.000 people took to the streets of the see the floats, dancers, folklore music, clones, and modified cars in the city on the south side of San Jose.

The party officially kicked off at 1pm from the "Cuty" stadium. However, many were already in a festive spirit even before the first floats took to the streets.

The carnaval was traditionally held in the streets of downtown San Jose until a few year ago when the Municpalidad de San Jose cancelled the yearly event, opting to remain only with the "Tope Nacional" on December 26.

The event is quickly becoming a tradition.
