Bus Operators Waiting On Response By Legislators Before Contemplating Strike Action
Bus operators have been very patient during the last month, waiting on legislators to provide solutions to the current problem of high fuel prices, before taking any definitive action on their part.

Maritza Hernández, president of the Foro Nacional de Transporte Público, said that her group will be visiting the Legislative Assembly today to hear a positive response by legislators.

Hernández assures that there is a lack of political will a serious solution to the problem othern than raising bus fares.

The Foro leader is adamant that, failing a positive solution, bus operators will be meeting in the coming week to plan out a strategy to pressure legislators, a strategy that could include a strike action.

"This is serious, it (buses) is a fundamental service and if tomorrow (today) we don't get an answer things are going to get complicated", said Hernández.

Hernández added that a strike action is still standing, it has been sidelined in the hope of finding a solution, because it is not convenient for anyone.
