Nicaragua: Violations on The Five Decried
US authorities continue violating the rights of the five anti-terrorist Cuban fighters held in US prisons, local Radio Ya said on Saturday, echoing denunciations made by Elizabeth Palmeiro, the wife of Ramon Labanino, one of the Cuban Five.

Palmeiro and Magali Llort, the mother of Fernando Gonzalez, attended the Central American Forum of Social Organizations, Political Parties and the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas to back the cause of The Five.

Participants in the gathering approved a special declaration demanding the immediate release of the five Cuban patriots and the granting of US visas to the wives of Gerardo Hernandez and Rene Gonzalez, who have not been allowed to meet with their spouses in US prisons for nearly 10 years now.

News programs in La Primerisima Radio, La Sandino, Channel 4 and other media referred to the plight of The Five and backed their cause.
