Peru Declares State Of
Emergency Over Possible
Water Pollution
The Peruvian government
Saturday declared a
state of emergency in
the east of Lima after
signs showed that toxic
materials from a mine
might flew into the
city’s main source of
water.
A 60-day state of
emergency in the
mountainous district of
San Mateo was declared
after signs showed that
toxic materials of a
waste pit at the
Coricancha mine might
spill into the Rimac
River, the capital's
main source of water.
