Chile To Buy French
Satellite For Military,
Scientific Use
The Chilean Air Force
and the French EADS
Astrium GmbH signed an
agreement Friday, under
which Chile will
purchase a satellite
from the French
consortium.
The Chilean Defense
Ministry said the
satellite was purchased
at some 72 million U.S.
dollars to gather
mining, agricultural,
environmental and
defense information.
Under the agreement, the
satellite is expected to
be lift off in 2010. |
