Satanic Partygoers Wake
Up Calderon Patients
The calls to the 911
emergency system from
the Hospital Calderón
Guardia began just
before 4:00am Saturday
morning and emergency
personnel fearing the
worst were relieved that
it was not a case of
another fire at the
hospital, but rather a
bunch of noisy and
boisterous tourists at a
nearby hotel.
The party was going on
at the Hotel Casa del
Parque, as a group of
tourists not caring the
time, had the party
going on full blast.
Police responded in full
force fearing a riot,
were met by the partying
tourists with obscene
gestures and
profanities, some tried
to flee the scene, but
were chased by police.
At the end, the party
was of a small group of
tourists, led by a pair
believed to be from
Spain, who were
undocumented and held by
police to be
investigated by
immigration authorities
as to their legal stay
in Costa Rica.
According to one police
official, it was a
"fiesta satánica" (satainic
party) which will now be
investigated by the
Municipalidad de San
José, to determine if
the hotel should be shut
