Super Gasoline TO Go
To ¢644 In June
The price of gasoline
keeps spiralling up, a
the Autoridad Reguladora
de los Servicios
Públicos (Aresep)
yesterday approved
another round of price
hikes, while the
Refinadora Costarricense
de Petróleo (Recope)
made a formal request
for another.
The government regulator
of public prices and
services approved a hike
requested by the state
refinery last month,
while the refinery moved
on applying for its
monthly adjustment that
occurs every second
Friday.
The approved prices will
be ¢604 colones for a
litre of regular, up
from ¢588; super will go
from the current ¢601 to
¢621; and diesel from
¢556 to ¢587.
The new prices will go
into effect next
Saturday (May 17).
However, tighten the
purse strings a little
more, as the Recope is
asking for gasoline
prices at the pump to be
¢657 for a litre of
super, ¢644 for regular
¢623 for diesel. Those
prices will go into
effect once the Aresep
makes a decision, which
is not expected for
weeks.
The high cost of a the

international markets is
