Dozens of Nicaraguan Nurses Emigrating
At least 200 Nicaraguan nurses emigrated during the last months, seeking better conditions of life, according to official statistics.

Experts highlight that US has recently boosted a plan of recruitment of these professionals to send them with troops during the aggression to Iraq.

Statistics from the Ministry of Health indicate that there are in the country nearly 2,500 nurses (men and women) active in the public system and some 500 in the private sector.

According to official numbers, the lack of this type of health technicians in Europe and US makes thousands of specialists from Central America to immigrate those countries, creating emptiness and a crisis in the sector.
