Colombian City of Cali Attacked
By Explosives
Two explosive devices
exploded on early
Tuesday in Cali,
Colombia's third biggest
city, but caused no
damages, just hours
after the city suffered
similar attacks Monday
night.
Cali's police commander,
general Jesus Gomez,
said two men on
motorcycles hurled the
explosive devices into
trash cans in
publicsites of Cali's
downtown and southern
sectors.
Cali is about 500 km
from Bogota, the capital
of this South American
country.
On Monday night, two
explosive devices were
activated in Cali, one
in commercial center and
another in front of a
banking headquarters,
causing damages worth
more than 8,400 U.S.
dollars.
Gomez blamed the attacks
on the Colombia's
largest rebel group, the
Revolutionary Armed
Forces, saying he
believed they were
acting in revenge for
the killing of a
guerrilla commander on
May 8.
