Ecuadorian Navy Seizes 4 Tons of Cocaine
Quito - The Ecuadorian navy found four tons of cocaine Monday during a patrol of San Lorenzo, which shares a border with Colombia.

The drugs were discovered in a manor in Palma Real parish, in San Lorenzo. Two Colombians and an Ecuadorian were detained during the operation, said Fernando Zurita, head of the Naval Command of North Operations.

Zurita said the drug traffickers intended to ship the drugs to the United States or Europe.

The four tons were the largest amount of cocaine seized by the Ecuadorian navy this year in Esmeraldas province.

The drugs were transferred to police in Esmeraldas province, north of Ecuador.
