Interamericana Sur Will Be Closed Beginning Tomorrow
The Consejo Nacional de Vialidad (Conavi) said it will be completely closing down the Interamericana Sur between 6am Friday and 5am Sunday, to install a sewer pipe to avoid further problems on the highway that connects San José to Peréz Zeledón and the Southern Zone.

Benjamín Sandino of Conavi explained that last weeks torrential rains has caused water to build up on sections of the highway, creating lagoons in some cases, and resulting in landslides.

For those requiring travel to and from the Southern Zone and San José can use the alternate route of Desamparados-Tarbaca-La Fila-Río Conejo-Frailes-San Cristóbal Sur or Desamparados-Tarbaca-La Fila-Río Conejo-Frailes-Los Santos.
