Uruguay's Vazquez to Costa Rica

Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez will pay an official visit to Costa Rica starting April 19 aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.

Official sources via La Republica daily said Vazquez will be travelling to San Jose from Trinidad and Tobago where he is to attend the Fifth Summit of the Americas.

Vazquez will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Gonzalo Fernandez, Alvaro Garcia (Economy), Daniel Martinez (Industry, Energy and Mining) and Ernesto Agazzi (Livestock, Agriculture and Fishing).

The delegation will include numerous businessmen interested in bracing ties in the sector, along with politics, diplomacy, economics and trade.

Vazquez had announced in March that Costa Rica had opened the way for importing Uruguayan dairy, which is good news amid declining exports amid the world economic crisis.
