2.000 Take Part in Costa Rican Marathon
The entire route from the west side of the
Sabana park, along Pavas to the US Embassy,
up a few blocks and then back to the Sabana
along the Boulevard through Rohrmoser, then
on Paseo Colón, along Avenida Segunda,
passing the Legislative Assembly and back to
the Sabana, was the route by some 2.000
runners on Sunday of the running of the
14thr edition of the Costa Rican Marathon.
Traffic in Pavas and Rohrmoser was a mess,
as Tránsito (traffic) police blocked off
part of the west bound lanes on the main
route to Pavas and the entire eastbound
lanes of the boulevard, to allow runners a
secure run, not like last year when runners
had to dodge traffic.
The police presence along the route also
gave security to the runners as they bassed
some less desirable areas along the route.
