Honduran Resistance Rejects De Facto Regime
Accusations
TEGUCIGALPA - The National Resistance Front
against the Coup d'Etat in Honduras rejected
Thursday recent accusations by de facto
President Roberto Micheletti, who blamed the
popular movement for the murder of Catherine
Nicolle on Tuesday.
A release of the Front termed the death of
the 16-year-old girl a human and social
tragedy, and demanded the clarification of
facts and all crimes and violations of human
rights occurred in the country after the
coup.
The text condemned Micheletti's threats on
the alleged resistance' guilt in those
facts, and stated the non-violent nature of
the struggle carried out by the Honduran
people since the June 28 military coup.
The illegitimate president accused them on
Wednesday of shooting Catherine, a
nine-month pregnant woman and daughter of
television journalist Karol Cabrera.
Two men on a motorcycle shot Tuesday night
the car in which Cabrera, who escaped
unharmed, was travelling.
Human rights organizations have documented
41 cases of victims of the military
repression and political pursue by the
dictatorship since the June 28 coup.
