No
Festival Imperial In 2010 Due To Fears Of
AH1N1
The Festival Imperial is being called off
for next year. Florida Bebibas said the
third annual event will not be realized in
2010 due to fears of second wave of the
AH1N1.
Gisella Sánchez, spokesperson for the
company, confirmed the cancellation on
Amelia Rueda radio.
The first Festival Imperial took place in
2006 with the participation of Sting,
Jamiroquay and The Rasmus. The second
edition took place in 2008 with Duran Duran,
the Smashing Pumpkins and Incubus.
Sánchez said that it would not be a good
idea to gather so many people with the
expected second wave of the AH1N1 and thus
the decision to cancel the 2010 edition of
the festival.
The ministerio de Salud (Health ministry)
gave the green light on the Zapote Fair that
begins on Christmas Day, but has yet to make
an announcement on the Palmares Festival
that takes place in January, as it might
coincide with the second wave of the AH1N1
expected in January or February. |
