Another Honduran Resistance Member Killed
TEGUCIGALPA - Carlos Turcios, activist of
the Honduran Front of Resistance Against the
Coup, was murdered in the the country''s
northern area, the Committee for Human
Rights Defense in Honduras (CODEH).
According to CODEH President Andres Pavon,
the body of Turcios was found decapitated
and hand-mutilated on Thursday in Baracoa,
department of Cortes, 174 miles North from
Tegucigalpa.
The young vice president of the Front in
Choloma locality was reported missing on
Wednesday.
A CODEH report said armed men of the
National Office of Criminal Investigation,
using vests, kidnapped the victim in front
of his house in Choloma, near Baracoa.
Organizations for human rights in Honduras
have already documented 42 cases of victims
of the repression and political pursuit
since the coup on June 28.
Walter Trochez, another activist of the
Resistance, was murdered on Sunday, after
suffering brutal beatings, torture and a
kidnap attempt by members of the National
Office of Criminal Investigation.
