and some retailers have
joined in to offer help
for the victims and
affected by Thurday's
6.2 fatal earthquake.
Donations can be made at
any Banco de Costa Rica
(BCR) branch until
January 23. Deposits can
be made to the account
number 001-250-0 and at
the Bancrédito account
number 1000911-7.
The Cámara
Costarricense-Norteamericana
de Comercio (Amcham) is
also receiving funds at
the Banco Nacional
account number
100-01-00-043517-2 for
colones and
100-02-000-616147-5
their dollar account.
Wal-Mart has donated
1.000 "diarios" (meals)
to the CNE, 2.000
blankets and ¢3 million
colones to the Cruz Roja.
The Farmacias Fischel
and Corporación CEFA
have donated medications
that include antibiotics
and diapers, Megasuper
supermarkets ¢1 million
colones in food
supplies.
Donations of food and
other items can also be
left at Casa
Presidencial between 7am
and 8pm today and
tomorrow.
As well as the 110
stores by the Grupo
Gollo around the
country. Items like
canned foods, clothing,
bottled water, blankets,
diapers, toilet paper
and other non-perishable
items will be collected
by the Gollo staff and
distributed to where it
is most needed. |
