Colombia Confirms Two
More Deaths of A/H1N1 Flu
Bogota - Colombia on Monday confirmed two more
deaths of A/H1N1 flu, bringing the country's death
toll to four.
A 28-year-old woman from the capital Bogota, and a
13-year-old girl from the metropolis Soacha died on
July 4 and July 6, respectively, after being
infected with the A/H1N1 flu virus, the Social
Protection Ministry said.
The other two victims are a 24-year-old woman who
died from severe pneumonia derived from the A/H1N1
flu on June 4, and a 28-year-old man who died from
multi-organs decline caused by the virus on June 19.
Both of them were from Bogota, according to Manuel
Villamizar, the Health Secretary in Bogota.
Colombia so far has reported 127 confirmed cases and
1,732 possible cases of the pandemic. The government
has tightened control at hospitals and health
centers to avoid a large-scale outbreak of the
disease in the country.
