Sabana - Escazú Road Ready By End Of Month

In less than three weeks the road work between Sabana Sur and Escazú should be completed and travel between San Jose and Escazú, will be much easier. At least that is the promise by the Ministerio de Obras Publicas y Transportes (MOPT).

The new road that is in the final stages of construction will connect the Sabana Sur, south of the Contraloria General de la Republica, cut through Hatillo 7 and 8 and access Bello Horizonte in minutes, without having to use the Circunvalacion or the autopista San Jose - Caldera.

The work includes under and overpasses in La Sabana and the Circunvalacion and the completion of the bridge between Hatillo and Escazú. Residents of both areas had watched the yellow structure sit idle for years.

The cost of the construction is us$9 million dollars.
