Heredia Train May Be Running  Next Month

Heredianos must wait until August to take the commuter train to San Jose and back, according to Instituto Costarricense de Ferrocarriles (INCOFER), who has been working feverishly to ready the train locomotives, cars and track, but bogged down with a legal issue filed last month, halting the June 30 start date.

Miguel Carabaguiaz, president of the INCOFER, assures that the train and track is ready and is now waiting on a decision of the judges to clear the way.

Last month, a resident filed a complaint with the court alleging that the work by INCOFER affects negatively his property that abutts the tracks. The complaint says that passengers of the commuter train are also at risk, due to the shoddy work by the railway.
